Royal Enfield has updated its middleweight motorcycle portfolio by unveiling the Super Meteor 650. This cruiser motorcycle joins the Interceptor INT 650 and Continental GT 650 in the company’s middleweight portfolio. The motorcycle is powered by the same 648cc, parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled motor as the Interceptor INT 650 and the Continental GT 650. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the engine is tuned to deliver 47bhp of maximum output and 52.3Nm of peak torque.

The new Super Meteor 650 is built around a tubular steel frame and it uses 43mm upside-down front forks and dual rear shocks to handle the suspension tasks. Meanwhile, the braking setup includes a 320mm disc at the front and a 300mm rotor at the back while the safety net comprises dual-channel ABS. It also gets alloy wheels, a first in the company’s 650cc portfolio, and these are wrapped in 100/90 front and 150/80 rear tubeless tyres.

The feature list comprises an LED headlight, an LED taillight, and a semi-digital instrument cluster with Royal Enfield’s Tripper Navigation system. Royal Enfield will offer a wide range of accessories for the motorcycle. The company has announced two accessory packs for Super Meteor 650 – Solo Tourer and Grand Tourer.

The former includes bar end mirrors, LED indicators, deluxe footpeg, and machined alloy wheels. The Grand Tourer, on the other hand, comprises a deluxe touring dual-seat, passenger backrest, touring windscreen, long-haul panniers, and a touring handlebar. This pack gets deluxe footpegs and LED indicators too.

The cruiser will be available in two variants — Super Meteor 650 and Super Meteor 650 Tourer, and a total of seven colour options – Astral Black, Astral Blue, Astral Green, Interstellar Gray, Interstellar Green, Celestial Red, and Celestial Blue.

The new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 will be showcased at the Rider Mania in India on 18 November. We expect the bookings to commence soon after its India unveil, while the deliveries could start early next year.
